Cream Tea Scones

  • cream tea scones4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Sift dry ingredients into a bowl.

Cut fat into the flour mixture.

Pour milk and vanilla into the dry ingredients until the mixture just comes together.

Roll out to 1/2″ thickness and cut out 15 scones.

Bake 20 minutes.

Serve with butter or clotted cream, and jam.
