Tartufo @SweetAdvBlogHop #SABH

A tartufo is an Italian truffle made with gelato! The first time I had one was one of those unusual situations.  I was in a town called Chico in California.  I would go to Perche No! for breakfast at times, and one day I was in there for an espresso, when I noticed these little round ball-shaped desserts.  I was told it was a tartufo and I decided to try it out.  It was incredibly delicious.  The best part of a tartufo, you can make them as big or small as you like.  Due to the fact, they are ice cream, you can make them in advance, and they store well!  Perfect for a party or slight indulgences during the year!



  • 10 maraschino cherries
  • 1 pint almond gelato
  • 20 chocolate cookies
  1. Place the chocolate cookies in a ziploc bag and crush.
  2. Take equal sized glumps of ice cream and shape around one maraschino cherry.  Once completely covered, put the ice cream ball in the ziploc bag and roll in the cookie crumbs.  If necessary, press crumbs into the ice cream.
  3. Freeze.
